The prominent research center National Center for Quantum Internet was established at ITMO University in 2019 to contribute to a comprehensive development of quantum communications as part of the Russian national program Digital Economy. 

The mission of the center is to ensure the life cycle of promising cross-cutting technology products and services  through consolidating the efforts of key market players and conducting pilot studies and developments.  

Among the center’s partners are Russian Railways, Quanttelecom LLC, and Skoltech.
