Gazprom Neft-ITMO Research and Education Center

Maya Uspenskaya

The Gazprom Neft-ITMO Research and Education Center carries out the following types of activities within the university:

  • the organization of  socially-significant events, including international ones, in science and innovation;

  • administrative activities;

  • academic activities (incl. research and design projects);

  • scientific and education activities;

  • educational activities (incl. the development and implementation of educationals programs in Russian and English);

  • expert, analytical, consulting and educational activities, educational activities associated with vocational education, and so on.

Tasks

  • prepare proposals on the organization and execution of research and design projects in oil and gas production and the implementation of innovative projects in accordance with the main objectives of the Strategy for Science and Technology Development of the Russian Federation;

  • help organize the core project-oriented module-based educational programs for Master’s students and train scholars and engineering specialists for the oil and gas sector;

  • manufacture products and implement the results of intelligent activities;

  • conduct expert and analytical activities, including income-generating projects, that answer the university’s goals.

Projects

  • Fine filters testing (June 15 - October 1, 2022);

  • Laboratory tests of the quality of drilling, completion, and cement fluids used in well construction at the sites of Gazprom Neft (June 1, 2022 - December 31, 2023)

  • Physical and chemical studies of chemical exploration (August 6, 2021 - December 10, 2023)

  • Determining the efficiency of chemical samples for preventing and combating paraffin deposits at oil production sites (June 22, 2021 - September 1, 2021)

  • Research on the effect of sulfate-polyacrylamide bacteria and oxygen on the corrosion of pipe networks at an oil production site (October 1 - December 10, 2020)

Accomplishments

The center’s researchers have published papers in peer-reviewed journals (Q1 and Q2), including Polymers (Q1),  ACS Omega (Q1), European Polymer Journal (Q1), Iranian Polymer Journal (Q2), and so on.

  • Laser particle sizer 2,000 µm ANALYSETTE 22 NanoTec

  • Liquid photometric analyzer FLUORAT-02-2M 

  • Particle size analyzer based on an analytical sieve shaker AS 200 digit equipped with a sieving set 

  • Cryothermostat FT-316-40

  • Acidity meter, etc.

Master’s programs: Bioeconomics and Resource Management (subject area – Energy- and Resource Saving Processes in Chemical Technology, Petroleum Chemistry and Biotechnology).
