Education

2007 – granted the title of a professor;

2006 – defended her DSc thesis on the development of resource-saving technologies for fish products manufacturing based on improving mechanical and moisture-thermal processes;

1996 – granted the title of an associate professor;

1991 – defended her PhD thesis on hydrotransportation of cans in the channels of an airlift-type sterilizer;

1979-1984 – received an honors degree in food production machines and devices from Leningrad Technological Institute of Refrigeration (now ITMO University).

1984-1989 – a junior researcher at Leningrad Institute of Trade and Economics;

1990-2017 – an employee at the Department of Production Machines and Equipment, ITMO University;

1990-1996 – a senior lecturer, ITMO University;

1995-2006  – an associate professor, ITMO University;

2007-present – a professor, ITMO University;

2001-2005 – the deputy dean of the Faculty of Remote and External Studies, ITMO University;

2006-2007 – the deputy dean of the Faculty of Food Engineering and Automatization, ITMO University;

2008-2014 – the dean of the Faculty of Food Engineering and Automatization, ITMO University;

2014-2017 – the head of the Department of Production Machines and Equipment, ITMO University.

Elena Verboloz has supervised 3 PhD and 6 Master’s students. Annually, she has up to ten graduates under her supervision.

Improving resource-saving technologies for processing food raw materials based on the optimization of hydromechanical and thermal processes.

Awards

• Honored Worker of Higher Education of the Russian Federation (2011);

• More than five commendations from food manufacturers for consultations on technological processes.

Elena Verboloz is an author of seven patents, 27 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals, as well as a co-author of three Scopus-indexed papers.
