Education and professional activity

Dr. Vasily Kravtsov received his Diploma in 2009 from the Physics Department of Lomonosov Moscow State University and his PhD in Physics in 2017 from the University of Colorado at Boulder, USA. He has worked for several years as a research assistant at the Physics Department of CU Boulder and Joint Institute for Laboratory Astrophysics (JILA), focusing on experimental research in the fields of near-field optics, nanotechnology, and femtosecond laser pulses. In the summer of 2018, Vasily joined the ITMO Fellowship and Professorship Program and is currently a leading research fellow in the Department of Physics, ITMO University. His research interests include two-dimensional quantum materials, ultrafast spectroscopy, and nonlinear nano-optics.
