4th International Conference on the Periodic Table: Mendeleev 150

The UN has recently declared 2019 the Year of the Periodic Table of Chemical Elements. In this regard, scientific conferences, symposiums, competitions and congresses will be held all around the world. ITMO University will host one of the key events, the 4th International Conference on the Periodic Table. Leading specialists in the field of chemistry from Russia, the USA, Italy and other countries will come to St. Petersburg to take part in the Conference. Among the participants will be Yuri Oganessian, one of the leading Soviet and Russian scientists, George Whitesides, a prolific author with the highest Hirsch index of all living chemists, and Jean-Marie Lehn, a Nobel Prize winner in chemistry.

ITMO and University of Bologna Cooperate in Science and Education

How is recycling organized in Italy, what is transition engineering all about, and how can its principles be applied to the operation of Russian companies in order to form a really effective recycling management system? Anastasia Pavlova, senior lecturer at the Department of Industrial Ecology and Safety, is working on a project that manages raw materials and wastes from the food industry, which answers these questions. She recently won an Italian government grant and has gone to the University of Bologna - the country's second largest university and the oldest educational establishment in Europe. In the course of her internship, not only does Anastasia plan to study Italian practices, but also enhance cooperation with Italian universities.

While QS-Apple creative awards acknowledged ITMO University with a Bronze prize for the Best International Website page back in 2016, here in Russia, the internationalization efforts of the university on the web are receiving focus from the Russian International Affairs Council who placed ITMO second in terms of digital internationalization.
