Description
The program consists of three lectures:
12.30 - "Contribution of Ibn Al Hasaim in Optics and Renaissance Art"
University of Arizona Professor Charles M. Falco will present an interactive lecture about the discoveries of the Arab scholar of the 11th century Ibn Al Hasaim as well as the links that connect artists and scientists across history: mirror anamorphosis, perspective distortion, the general philosophical foundations of art and science.
13.00 - "Light Inside a Triangle: Art, Science and Technology"
ITMO University Professor Sergei Stafeev will talk about the role of optics in architecture, painting, theater and other visual arts. The professor will illustrate his presentation with examples of collaboration and competition between great artists and scientists.
13.30 - "Light and Art - Unbreakable Bond"
University of Florence Professor Alessandro Farini will discuss the future of light technologies while exploring the history of connection between optics and creativity.
Attendance is free. Pre-registration is required.
