Biography

Elena Bogdanova is the PhD, Professor and one of the leading experts in the area of preparation of specialists for international economic activity and customs administration.

From 2003 to 2007, she was the Vice-President of the North-West Custom Service Academy, where in 2003 she created and took the lead of the International Business and Law Institute.

In February 2007, the Institute became a part of St. Petersburg State University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics.

From 1995 to 2002, she worked in the subdivision named after V.B. Bobkov of St. Petersburg Russian Customs Academy and in St. Petersburg Institute for Trade and Economy where she was the Head of Statistics Department.

In 1998, she organized the establishment of the International Center of External Economic Activities Development "Caduceus" and the National Alliance of Customs auditors "NACA", she was the initiator and organizer of the development and implementation of significant for the external economic activities of St. Petersburg programs and projects.

As an assistant of the Vice President of State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, she led a group of experts of the Interparliamentary Assembly for model legislation EURASEC in customs administration and was involved in the development of the "On Customs Tariff" and "On the Customs audit" laws.

Elena Bogdanova has graduated with honors from the Leningrad Institute of trade and Economics in 1987. She worked in the Staff Management Office of Executive Committee of Leningrad Oblast.

From 1989 to 1995 she worked as a lecturer at the Department of Statistics of St. Petersburg State University of Economics and Finance.

In 1994, she graduated from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (the School of practical accounting, auditing and finances).

In 1995, she was awarded a diploma of the winner of the Research Competition of Russian Science Foundation for the research in the field of economics.

She created a new model of additional vocational training for the employees of the Federal Customs Service. She was awarded credits of President of the Russian FCS for great achievements in this area.

She is an author of more than 80 scientific and methodical works and inventions, including 5 monographs.
