ChemBio Cluster

Vladimir Vinogradov

ChemBio Cluster combines a network of high-level research laboratories, and the Research and Educational Center of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology.

Laboratory "Solution Chemistry of Advanced Materials and Technologies" is the leading laboratory in ITMO University specializing in the creation of hybrid materials by soft solution chemical methods in nanomaterial science. The field of research interests includes the development of biomedical, optical materials and advanced industrial materials. The results of scientific investigation highlight in high-rated journals and integrates into an industry.

The important parts of current investigations are given to genetic engineering of functional oligonucleotides and study of the DNA structure molecular logic elements. These elements can be potentially used in the first computer processor based on DNA and for the development of the new hybridized probes for analysis of DNA and RNA-specific sequences in the real time. Both programs will be taught in English.

The students and young scientists of "Research and Educational Center of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology" will be able to study, carry out practical research including the orders from industrial partners. The significant skills for further working as a researcher or industrial specialist will be acquired due to the various center resources.
