The Department of Computer Software and Hardware is part of the Faculty of Management and Automation Controls and has more than 40 years of experience in conducting academic activities in the field of occupational retraining and advanced professional training. During the last 20 years, the department has trained more than 11 thousand students from Russia and different foreign countries. Our graduates work as project and IT department heads, system engineers and administrators, programmers and specialists in operation of hardware and software computational systems.
As of now, the department's main areas of activity are
training master's students, program track #230100 "Informatics and computer engineering";
training bachelor's students (including part-time study), program track #230100 "Informatics and computer engineering";
retraining and further training of specialists (graduates receive corresponding diplomas and certificates);
In September, 2003, an Educational Center was opened at the department, which gives training in the use of 1C latest software applications.
In 2007, an educational center of the ZyXEL Company has been created at the department; the center gives training in theory and practice of using ZyXEL's network equipment and technologies for creating LAN-WAN networks.
In 2012, the QNAP Educational Center was opened, focused on training certified specialists in IP video surveillance systems and network data storages.
All these programs are aimed at training professional skills and are practice-oriented. The students spend most of their study time working with computers and get many practical assignments. They also get the necessary amount of theoretical knowledge.
The classes are conducted in five well-equipped classrooms. The latest versions of software are not just used in classrooms, but are given out to the students to use at home, as well.
