Department of Process and Equipment in Food Production

The book "Theory and calculation of the basic equipment of the dairy industry" which has been the only textbook for the course "The processes and devices" for universities of food profile for many years was published in 1934 by G. Kuk.  Governance of the Department and the formation of scientific schools have been carried out by him until 1964.

The Department was headed by associate professor F. Tarasov in 1964-1972. Docent I. Mazyukevich has worked at the Department over 25 years. Governance of the Department was carried out by Professor L. Nikolayev from 1973 to 1976. Further development of the Department is associated with the names of professors V. Lepilin and V. Tishin honored worker of higher education of the RSFSR, Professor V. Tishin has headed the Department for over 10 years.

Logistic support of academic and research laboratories has increased significantly during this years.

Currently, the Department prepares graduates of specialty "Food engineering of small businesses" and master’s program "Processes and equipment for food production". The Department is in liaison with industry such as JSC "Baltika" and JSC "Smolninski Bakery".

Graduate and doctoral in specialty "Processes and equipment for food production" work successfully at the Department.
