Research Center for Quality Control Technologies in the Aerospace Industry

The Research Center for Quality Control Technologies in the Aerospace Industry was established in 2009 to develop educational and methodological, research, design and engineering, information and consulting, and implementation activities associated with the country’s critical technologies.

Key fields

  • development and implementation of monitoring systems for advanced technical complexes;

  • development and implementation of non-destructive control technologies in manufacturing and operation of products;

  • information and software for monitoring systems;

  • experimental testing of advanced promising high-tech-based complexes and systems.

Projects

  • Services for conducting environmental tests of prototype kits of residual stress measurement equipment (November 26-30, 2018)

  • Methodological support for an automated control of a geometric shape of a cylindrical shell (February 1 - December 31, 2022).

The staff of the Research Center for Quality Control Technologies in the Aerospace Industry helped develop a video inspection system for rolled metal surfaces in the interests of Severstal, select resources to examine the integrity and tightness of pipelines of the high-pressure flare systems for Gazprom Neft, and design, produce, and implement automated not-destructive control systems at such domestic enterprises as Energomash, Joint-Stock Company "Design Bureau of Chemical Automation" (JSC KBKhA), and the Khrunichev State Research and Production Space Center.

Accomplishments

In 2020, Prof. Prokhorovich was awarded the Prize of the Government Russian Federation in science and technology for the creation and implementation of a methodology of scientific and technical support for the operation of ground-based space infrastructure facilities with the use of advanced non-destructive testing tools for the Proton rocket launch system at the Baikonur Cosmodrome.

Available equipment

  • a kit for laser ultrasonics control;

  • a kit for ultrasonics control;

  • a kit for studying thin films.

Partners

The Engineering and Design Center for Support of the Operation of Space Technology.
