The Chair was established in 1998 as a part of the Natural Sciences Department.

The main functions of the Chair are:

• Delivering courses in psychology and teaching in framework of the basic professional educational program;
• Additional professional educational program for Masters and graduates in order to enable them to get qualification of University Teachers;
• Research work in the vocational education technologies.

The Chair takes a substantial part in activities carried out by the Department of the University Teachers Skill Improvement.

The Chair provides methodical and technical supervision over the department`s computer classroom, publishing department of the university, edits the newspaper Technical University ITMO.

The Chair made a substantial contribution to the anniversary exhibition 100 years of ITMO.
