The Chair is staffed with highly skilled experts and equipped with teaching and research laboratories.

The graduates of the Chair gain an in-depth education in physical optics, solid state physics, optical methods for the information transmission and processing, optical measurements, laser technologies, fiber and integrated optics, electronics, computer engineering and technologies, optics and electronics mass-media, ecology, foreign languages, economics, management and others.

A broad outlook in the Optoelectronics enables the graduates to find the jobs in a labor market. Graduates of the Chair work in the research institutions and laboratories, in industry and business. Many of them occupy the leading administrative positions.

A scope of the scientific interests of the Chair fellows covers the Optical Material Science, Spectroscopy of Solids, Computer Science, Optical and Physical Measurements including the automated ones, Interaction of the Optical Radiation with various substances.

The Chair staff has close contacts and co-operation with universities and companies in China, Germany and USA. The Chair is interested in expansion of cooperation with foreign partners.
