Every year the Chair carries out no less than four scientific research projects. A number of the trainees and post-graduate students from foreign universities have carried out work in an attached scientific laboratory.

During its existence the Chair has trained more than 500 engineers in Optical Technology, about ten PhDs and one doctor of sciences with international students coming from Korea, Bulgaria, and Israel.
