In its actual form the Chair exists since 1992, in accordance with quickly increasing demands in Russia for the specialists in the economics. Having passed a number of the essential reorganizations on the prime stage of development, the Chair is now quite able to function effectively in the educational and scientific areas.

Since 2001 the Chair has started preparation of the economists majoring in National economics.The teachers of the Chair mainly deliver the following basic courses:

• State regulation of national economics;
• Forecasting of national economics;
• Strategical planning;
• Methods of the national economics modeling;
• Economics of the Region;
• International financial and crediting relations.

The faculty of the Chair takes part in a writing of the teaching aid materials and manuals, develops the authoring courses and the remote training programs. At the Chair are working two professors, five associate professors, and two senior teachers.

The members of the Chair carry out the scientific researches and developments in the following directions:

• Analysis, substantiation and development of the crisis-proof and stabilization programs for the national economics;
• Regulation of a production activity at the different levels of management;
• Path tracing of the financial and informational highways;
• Planning of the personnel strategy and scientific researches by request of the interested organizations.
